Prices for the Ferrari Amalfi Spider are expected to begin at approximately $270,000, potentially rising slightly higher. This impending launch is significant as it expands Ferrari’s entry-level offerings, allowing enthusiasts greater access to the brand.
Ferrari plans to reveal the Amalfi Spider next month, building on a trend of offering convertible versions alongside coupes, as seen with previous models like the Roma and Portofino. The new Spider will feature a folding soft top, differentiating it from the heavier hardtops found in earlier models.
According to reports, the Amalfi Spider’s design will largely mimic that of the Coupe, though modifications will be necessary for the rear, to accommodate the roof’s stowage. This adaptation is emblematic of Ferrari’s commitment to maintaining both style and function in their vehicles.
Regarding performance, the Spider will retain the Coupe’s impressive 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 631 horsepower and 560 lb-ft (760 Nm) of torque. While the Coupe can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in around 3.3 seconds, the convertible’s additional weight may extend this to approximately 3.5 seconds, which remains exceptionally quick for a road vehicle.
The interior of the Amalfi Spider is also expected to reflect the Coupe, avoiding the extensive use of touch-sensitive controls that have drawn criticism in other models. Instead, drivers can anticipate physical buttons, including controls for the steering wheel and a standard Engine Start/Stop button, enhancing the overall driver experience.
As the launch date approaches, potential buyers in the US can expect the new convertible to carry a price tag close to $270,000, slightly exceeding that of the Coupe.
