Jam Kuradoberi and the version 2.00 patch of Guilty Gear Strive have recently launched, significantly altering the game’s competitive landscape. This update applies various adjustments to all characters, leading to a seismic shift in the player meta.
In advance of the Arc System World Tour Finale for 2025-2026, gamer Bushin published a tier list based on the previous game state, identifying characters such as Happy Chaos, Millia, Asuka, Sin, and I-No as the foremost contenders. Following the release of the patch, he shared insights from his initial experiences, suggesting substantial changes in character viability.
Although it remains early in the patch cycle, Bushin now expresses confidence in characters like Nagoriyuki, Chipp, Millia, Jam, Anji, and Leo potentially ranking as the best options available. Notably, the newly introduced Jam Kuradoberi may already demonstrate significant strength.
Previously, Happy Chaos occupied a tier of his own, regarded as the unequivocal strongest character. However, recent revisions to his gameplay mechanics necessitate greater management of his ammunition, raising questions about his continued dominance in the revised meta.
Conversely, certain fighters, including Asuka, Testament, A.B.A, Bridget, Slayer, Venom, Queen Dizzy, and Faust, seem to have gained little from the update. Bushin categorises these eight characters as likely now among the weakest in the game.
It is essential to recognise that this assessment represents a preliminary analysis of the new meta. As players continue to explore the patch’s implications, character rankings may change significantly in the forthcoming weeks.
