The “strawberry” moon, which is the first full moon of the summer, is coming in June. Because it appears at the same time as the summer solstice, the strawberry moon is especially meaningful this year. The summer solstice is a time of spiritual importance for many cultures, often celebrated with traditions or ceremonies.
Astrologer Kyle Thomas has offered ways to make the most out of this special full moon. He also explained why it’s called the “strawberry” moon. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Native American tribes gave this name to correspond with the strawberry harvest season. Other cultures refer to it as the “honey moon” due to honey harvesting also taking place in June.
The chance of the full moon happening on the same day as the summer solstice is very rare. This year, the full moon will appear on June 21, just one day after the summer solstice on June 20.
This year, the strawberry moon is in the zodiac sign of Capricorn, which is associated with career success and building legacies. During this time, astrologers suggest using the intense energy to manifest dreams, particularly through rituals involving nature.
