Actress Reese Witherspoon has announced her excitement about a new “Legally Blonde” prequel. Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that the series, titled “Elle”, will premiere next year.

This new series will focus on Witherspoon’s character, Elle Woods, before the events in the popular movie “Legally Blonde”. The actress will be the executive producer of the show. However, the identity of the actress who will play young Elle Woods is yet to be announced.

An Instagram video showed Witherspoon getting dressed and putting on pink lipstick while showing a “top secret” script. The original “Legally Blonde” movie was a hit when released in 2001, starring Jennifer Coolidge and Luke Wilson. It was successful enough to prompt a sequel and then a musical.

The upcoming series will be produced by Witherspoon’s company, Hello Sunshine, previously responsible for shows like “Daisy Jones And The Six”.
