These allegations came following the release of the new Netflix documentary “Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult.” This documentary is about a talent management company called 7M Films and the Shekinah Church. Some people interviewed in the documentary accuse these organizations of being a cult.
Miranda Derrick, who is featured in the show and signed with 7M Films, says the documentary is one-sided. Her family has accused the company of brainwashing her, but she disputes these claims.
She posted a statement on Instagram where she explained her side of the story but was unable to share details about the allegations due to ongoing legal issues. She mentioned that she feels misunderstood by her family as they have opposing viewpoints on her religious beliefs.
Miranda’s sister, Melanie Wilking, who also used to collaborate with her on TikTok, disagrees with Miranda’s stance and doubts that she has watched the documentary. She told Glamour this was evident from Miranda’s reaction to it.
In the meantime, the talent company, 7M Films, has called the Netflix series “a slanderous work of fiction.” There is ongoing legal action involving the company and some former members.
