Amazon MGM Studios is looking for new overseers for the James Bond franchise, and Amy Pascal and David Heyman are in talks for the role, according to Variety. However, a deal cannot be finalized until Amazon completes its purchase of creative control from long-time Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
Amy Pascal, who previously led Sony, has found success as a producer post-Sony with projects like the “Spider-Man” franchise and critically acclaimed films like “Challengers” and “Little Women.” David Heyman, known for his work on the Harry Potter films and “Fantastic Beasts” series, is also being considered for the role.
Last month, Amazon shook the industry by announcing its acquisition of creative control over the Bond series. The Broccoli family, who has safeguarded the series for years, clashed with Amazon on the series’ direction after Daniel Craig’s exit as 007 in “No Time to Die,” causing delays in new film development and Bond casting.
Amazon MGM declined to comment, but reports suggest that Heyman and Pascal could potentially lead the Bond series into its next chapter.
