According to CNN in London, Prince William will not attend a memorial service for King Constantine of Greece. A royal source said that Prince William will miss the service because of private reasons.

The service will take place at Windsor Castle. Prince William, who is 41 years old, was expected to be there.

The royal source did not want to talk more about why Prince William changed his plans. The source said that William’s wife, Princess of Wales, is doing well after having an operation in January.

William has let the family know that he cannot attend the service. Kate, Princess of Wales, is staying out of public view as she gets better at home. She is expected to start doing royal duties again after Easter.

King Charles III also will not be at the service. He is still being treated for cancer, which he does not want to talk about. This 75-year-old king has been very moved by the many supportive messages he has received since his cancer diagnosis.

CNN also heard from a different royal source. This source said that the reasons for Prince William not attending the service have nothing to do with King Charles’s health.

Queen Camilla will take charge of the family at the service, which is to remember the last Greek king. The service will be held at St. George’s Chapel.

King Constantine II of Greece, who was a second cousin of King Charles III, died in January last year. He was 82 years old. Charles and Constantine had a close relationship. Charles even chose his cousin Constantine to be a godfather to his first son, William. After a military takeover in 1967, Constantine and his family had to leave Greece for Italy. The Greek monarchy ended in 1973, and Constantine accepted it after a public vote in 1974.
