The latest update for the Nintendo Switch 2 has introduced a new feature called “Handheld Mode Boost.” This update is important because it improves how games look when played in handheld mode.
According to Nintendo, when this feature is turned on, compatible games will perform like they do in TV mode. The Switch 2 displays images at 1080p, which is higher than the original Switch’s 720p. This means players can expect better visuals while playing on the go.
To enable Handheld Mode Boost, users can follow simple steps in the system settings. Players need to go to the HOME Menu, choose System Settings, and then select the Handheld Mode Boost option.
While this feature can enhance visuals, it may also use more battery power. Some games may not show changes, and the touchscreen may not work while the boost is on. Additionally, Joy-Con controllers may act differently in this mode.
Players must update their system to Version 22.0.0 to use this feature. Handheld Mode Boost is only available for the Switch 2.
