Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, is fighting to stop the sale of Graceland, her late grandfather’s home in Memphis, Tennessee. Keough inherited Graceland and Elvis Presley’s estate after her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away last year. The dispute arose when a company claimed that Graceland was used as collateral for a loan taken out by Lisa Marie but never repaid. Keough alleges that her mother’s signature on the loan documents was forged.
The 34-year-old actress, known for her role in Amazon’s Daisy Jones & the Six, has taken legal action to prevent the auction of Graceland scheduled for Thursday. The company behind the loan, Naussany Investments, has not yet responded publicly.
Elvis Presley Enterprises, which manages Graceland, has refuted the claims, stating that the loan never existed and Lisa Marie never signed any documents. A court hearing is set for Wednesday to address the issue.
Graceland, where Elvis lived until his death in 1977, has been a popular tourist attraction since the 1980s, drawing around 600,000 visitors annually. Keough’s efforts to halt the sale have sparked interest and concern among fans of the iconic singer.
