‘Wake Up Dead Man’ Announced as Title for ‘Knives Out 3’, Set for Release in 2025

Renowned filmmaker Rian Johnson has revealed the title of his third installment in the “Knives Out” series, titled “Wake Up Dead Man,” set to be released in 2025. In a teaser posted on X Friday morning, Johnson announced that the beloved detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, will be back to tackle his most dangerous case yet.

The film will be distributed by Netflix as part of Johnson’s lucrative two-sequel deal with the streamer, valued at $450 million. Despite the success of the first film, “Knives Out,” which grossed $312 million globally, Netflix released the second film, “Glass Onion,” with only a limited theatrical run, earning $13 million before heading to streaming platforms.

Fans were sent into a frenzy when Johnson teased the upcoming film with a cryptic photo of a Pokémon egg, hinting at an impending announcement. Johnson expressed his excitement for the project, highlighting his love for the whodunit genre and the flexibility it offers creators.
