Wendy Williams denies reports of being impaired due to health conditions. In an interview with “The Breakfast Club,” she said she doesn’t need the care she’s receiving. She feels like she’s in a prison where she’s not allowed visitors or to go outside for a walk. Wendy was diagnosed with progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in 2023, which can affect communication and speech. She feels trapped in a conservatorship and misses celebrating birthdays with loved ones. Her niece, Alex Fannie, described Wendy’s living situation as a “luxury prison.” Wendy used to host “The Wendy Williams Show” but faced health issues and was in a court-ordered guardianship in 2022. Her niece hopes for a reassessment of Wendy’s situation to give her more freedom and dignity. Williams’ representatives haven’t commented on the current situation.
