A Republican lawmaker has made serious allegations regarding billionaire Les Wexner’s involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case. Representative Thomas Massie accused the Department of Justice (DOJ) of attempting to protect Wexner, stating that the cover-up extends over several decades. He expressed these concerns during a House hearing, claiming the situation is “bigger than Watergate.”
Massie’s comments brought renewed attention to Wexner, the former owner of Victoria’s Secret. He is seen as a key figure in Epstein’s rise to wealth, and questions about his relationship with Epstein have persisted for years. A review of the DOJ’s released files shows Wexner’s name, although initially redacted, appears in numerous records indicating federal scrutiny.
Investigators have sought information from Wexner since 2008 and asked whether he was aware of Epstein paying girls for sex acts. Wexner has long denied any wrongdoing but has faced serious allegations, including claims from victims who said they were trafficked to him. Despite being notable in these investigations, Wexner has never faced charges.
On Wednesday, Wexner, now 88 years old, is scheduled to provide testimony with the House Oversight Committee in Ohio. Wexner’s spokesperson mentioned that he is willing to cooperate fully with the authorities, stating he has been told he is not regarded as a target or co-conspirator in this matter.
