Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its first electric C-Class, boasting an impressive range of 473 miles (762 kilometres) on a full charge. This new model features all-wheel drive and dual motors, generating 482 horsepower and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. An alternative single-motor version with increased range is expected to launch in 2027.
Departing from traditional naming conventions, Mercedes has chosen to categorise this electric vehicle under the C-Class rather than the EQ series. The design is distinctive, featuring a modern grille that nods to classic models, alongside innovative night-time lighting options.
Inside, the electric C-Class offers a familiar layout, with an expansive 39.1-inch display across the dashboard. The premium version includes the Hyperscreen, while other variants have a combination of separate screens. The car’s spaciousness is due to a dedicated electric vehicle platform, leading to enhanced legroom and a generous panoramic roof.
This electric sedan is equipped with a substantial front trunk and a rear trunk, together offering significant storage capacity. The C400 4Matic variant is set to reach U.S. dealerships in the first half of 2027, and plans for additional versions are in the pipeline. As Mercedes aims to revolutionise its electric vehicle line, the C-Class Electric is expected to enhance its reputation in the EV sector significantly.
