OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Health for All US Users

OpenAI announced that it is now offering ChatGPT Health to all users in the U.S. who are over 18. This comes after a pastor from Florida sued the company because it suggested not consulting a doctor, which nearly led to a serious health issue.

Users can now also connect their medical records from hospital systems such as Epic and Oracle Health. Previously, OpenAI said that queries were mostly made within the dedicated hub. However, 70% of health questions have been asked outside of this section. With the new feature, users can access health insights while continuing general chats.

OpenAI stated that its latest model, GPT 5.6-Luna, has improved in answering health inquiries. However, the company reminds users that its services should not be used for diagnosing or treating health issues. In response to the lawsuit, OpenAI is working to make health-related answers safer and advises users to consult professionals for medical decisions.

Despite concerns about AI giving health advice, other companies like Anthropic and Google continue to develop similar features. ChatGPT Health is being rolled out for all U.S. users this week.
