Satellite Images Capture SpaceX Rocket Crash on Moon

A South Korean satellite has taken the first images of a new crash site on the moon. This site was created by a SpaceX rocket that accidentally collided with the lunar surface.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute launched the Danuri spacecraft, which flew over the impact site shortly after the crash on Wednesday. Danuri captured several photographs from its orbit around the moon. These images were shared by the space agency on Thursday.

The upper stage of the rocket from that launch crashed into the moon at a speed of 5,400 mph (8,700 kph). SpaceX said that solar activity and gravity caused it to collide with the moon by accident.
