Former reality TV star Joseph Duggar faces a child molestation charge in Florida. This is significant because it follows a similar case involving his brother, Josh, who was convicted of downloading child sexual abuse images nearly five years ago.
Joseph Duggar, 31, was arrested in Arkansas, where he lives. He awaits extradition, which means he will be sent to Florida to face charges. According to police in Bay County, Duggar is accused of lewd and lascivious behaviour towards a child under 12 years old.
The case began when officers in Tontitown, Arkansas, learned about the situation from a 14-year-old girl, who said Duggar molested her during a family trip to Panama City Beach when she was nine. The girl’s father confronted Duggar about these claims. He said Duggar admitted to the abuse during a phone call with a detective present.
Currently, there is no information about whether Duggar has a lawyer. TLC’s show, “19 Kids and Counting,” featured the Duggar family, known for their large number of children. The show ended in 2015 after allegations against Josh Duggar surfaced. He was sentenced to about 12.5 years in prison for similar charges in 2022.
