Players can expect some improvements when they embark on the Switch version of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on the new Switch 2. According to Nintendo’s recent FAQ, the game will utilise the enhancedcapabilities of the Switch 2, although the software content remains unchanged.
One notable improvement includes quicker loading times. Additionally, players with an active Switch Online membership can use the GameChat feature while playing. The game will also run at a higher resolution of 1080p in handheld mode, although it does not support the Handheld Mode Boost feature available on the Switch 2.
While players can enjoy a higher resolution in handheld mode, the game does not allow Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. However, some game areas, such as Mii creation and the Palette House workshop, do support touch controls when used in handheld mode.
Players can visit Nintendo’s official website for the full FAQ, which also states that each user on a system can create separate save data and islands, allowing up to 70 Miis to be registered.
For those eager to try the game, a demo is available now, with the full game set to launch on 16th April 2026.
