Peter Greene, a character actor, has died in New York City. He was 60 years old.
Police found him dead in his apartment on December 12. They said there was no foul play, which means no one hurt him.
The Medical Examiner said Greene died from an accident. He shot himself in his left underarm and hurt an important artery. This artery goes from the shoulder to the elbow.
Neighbours called the police because they heard Christmas music for days. They were worried and asked for a check on Greene.
Greene had problems with addiction in the past. He tried to end his life in the 1990s. On the day he was found, he was supposed to have surgery to remove a benign (non-cancerous) tumour near his lung.
Greene was famous for playing villains. He starred as Zed in “Pulp Fiction” and Dorian Tyrell in “The Mask.” He had a long acting career with nearly 100 roles in TV and films. He also studied acting in New York and faced many challenges in his life.
