Valerie Perrine passed away on Monday morning in Las Vegas. She was 82 years old. Perrine was a famous showgirl and actor. She is best known for her roles in the films “Lenny” and “Superman.”
Her friend Stacey Souther confirmed her death. Souther said Perrine fought Parkinson’s disease bravely. She did not complain and was an inspiration to many. Souther started a fundraising page to help with Perrine’s funeral costs. Perrine wanted to be buried in Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Perrine was born on September 3, 1943, in Galveston, Texas. She moved a lot as a child due to her father’s job in the army. She later went to the University of Arizona but left to become a dancer in Las Vegas.
Her acting career began by chance in Hollywood after a dinner party. She got her first role despite not having any acting experience. Perrine became famous for her roles in movies but stepped back from acting around 2010 due to her illness. She shared her story in the 2019 documentary “Valerie.”
