Steven S. DeKnight is the creator of “Spartacus.” He said it was hard to think about making more episodes after Andy’s death. For years, people asked if they could bring the show back. But DeKnight wasn’t ready to return.

After losing Andy, Liam McIntyre played Spartacus for two seasons. The new show, “Spartacus: House of Ashur,” is back now. It features Nick E. Tarabay, who plays a villain named Ashur.
DeKnight took his time to feel ready to make the show again. He said the story is very violent and has many intense scenes. DeKnight believes it is important to show this kind of world honestly.
