Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell Star in New Show

When Michelle Pfeiffer was asked to star in “The Madison,” a new series by Taylor Sheridan, she only received some basic information. The show would focus on a woman’s life changed by a major tragedy. At first, it was part of the “Yellowstone” universe, but this idea was later set aside.

Pfeiffer felt drawn to the story of a wealthy New York family coming to Montana. However, she had to decide quickly without seeing a script, which made her nervous. Before agreeing, she called Helen Mirren, who spoke highly of working with Sheridan on “1923.”

Kurt Russell, who plays Pfeiffer’s husband, joked that he warned her to stay away from the project. He had previously spoken to Sheridan about another project but had scheduling conflicts. Still, he read four episodes of “The Madison” and loved them.

Though Pfeiffer and Russell had not worked together since 1988, their personal experiences helped shape their characters. They used their long-term relationships as a guide during filming. The first season shows a mix of emotions, but Pfeiffer promises the second season will bring more laughs. Fans may also see a crossover with “Yellowstone” in the future.
