Sydney Sweeney, a popular young actor, has fans online but not everyone is happy about her casting. Kim Novak, a famous 93-year-old actor, does not think Sweeney is suitable to play her in an upcoming film about her life.
In an interview with The Sunday Times of London, Novak expressed her disappointment. She said Sweeney looks “sexy all the time” and is “totally wrong” for the role because of her image.
Sweeney has had a varied career. She acted in HBO’s Euphoria and will star in a film called Scandalous about Novak’s relationship with entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. This romance was very public in the 1950s.
Novak, known for her role in the classic film Vertigo, stated she would not have approved the casting. She worries that the film may not show her true relationship with Davis Jr. Novak believes their connection was deeper than people might think.
Sweeney has said she admires Novak and feels her story is important today, especially about how public imageaffects personal life. Novak reflected on her own career, saying being called pretty made it hard for people to see her true self.
