Destiny 2: How to Prepare for June 9 Patch

Destiny 2 has seen a significant rise in player numbers following the announcement of a patch scheduled for June 9, which will be the game’s final update, barring extraordinary circumstances. The number of players at peak times has nearly tripled in anticipation of this update.

Many gamers left Destiny 2 years ago, especially before the conclusion of its major story arc, known as the Light and Darkness saga. With the game now approaching its final shape, many are encouraged to re-engage before the content officially concludes.

Players are advised to catch up on the story by progressing to “The Final Shape,” the highly regarded expansion. For those seeking more content, two smaller expansions, Renegades and Edge of Fate, are available. However, players should note that Edge of Fate serves as a setup for a storyline no longer in development, while Renegades offers a solid standalone experience, complete with exciting loot.

Additionally, the game’s power cap will permanently be set at 550, allowing players to access all activities without disadvantage. As this is the last loot update, players are also encouraged to clean out their vaults to make space for new gear.

Furthermore, a new system focusing on Bright Engrams will allow players to acquire previously missed cosmetics. All raids and dungeons will receive refreshed loot, prompting players to revisit and brush up on their skills.

Finally, with the introduction of a new artifact system and the possibility of new abilities, players can start preparing their loadouts. Those interested in exploring other character classes will find opportunities to develop these as the game’s narrative closes. Players are expected to be engaged this weekend with the content leading up to the patch.
