The Grand Seiko Evolution 9 collection has introduced five new Spring Drive watches: SLGB007, SLGB009, SLGB011, SLGB013, and SLGB015. These are not limited editions but updates to improve accuracy and functionality. This is significant, as Grand Seiko aims to enhance their already popular watches.
The new models feature familiar designs. SLGB013 and SLGB015 have blue dials inspired by Lake Suwa, while SLGB007 presents a new black dial in High-Intensity Titanium. SLGB009 returns to the White Birch design, and SLGB011 showcases a green dial inspired by Nagano Prefecture’s Atera Valley.
Changes mainly focus on details. All models are time-and-date watches with textured dials and 10-bar water resistance. The most notable improvement is the three-step micro-adjustable clasp. This allows users to change the size easily without tools.
The design of the Evolution 9 collection has a modern feel, focusing on aesthetics, legibility, and comfort. Most of the watches measure 40mm wide and 11.7mm thick, while SLGB015 is smaller at 37mm.
All five watches use the Grand Seiko caliber 9RB2. This Spring Drive movement provides excellent accuracy of ±20 seconds per year. However, it has a shorter power reserve of 72 hours compared to previous models.
Prices start at €10,400 for most models, while SLGB007 costs €11,700. The new watches will be available in September 2026.
