OpenAI announced today that it will offer ChatGPT Health to all users in the U.S. who are over 18. This feature helps users with health questions. The news comes after a pastor in Florida sued OpenAI. He said the app gave bad advice by telling him not to see a doctor.
OpenAI started testing ChatGPT Health in January. Users could connect information from different apps like Apple Health. At that time, people asked 230 million health questions each week. Now, that number has grown to 300 million.
Users can also link their medical records from hospitals and health services. Before, users had to use a special hub for health questions. Now, they can use health information in all questions. During tests, 70% of health queries happened outside the hub.
Despite improvements, OpenAI says its services are not for diagnosing or treating health issues. OpenAI is working to make answers safer. They advise users to check information and ask doctors for medical advice. ChatGPT Health is now available for logged-in users with various plans on the web and iOS.
