American rock band Train has made a heartfelt tribute to their original bandmate, Charlie Colin, following his death at 58. Members of the band called Colin “the sweetest guy” and remembered his significant contribution to the group’s early success.
Charlie Colin was a founding member of Train, a band that was founded in San Francisco in 1993. They scored their biggest hit in 2001 with their popular song, “Drops of Jupiter.”
After the early 2000s, Colin decided to leave the band. Train continued to produce hit songs, including “Hey! Soul Sister” in 2009.
Fellow band members talk warmly about Colin’s talents and his contribution to the band’s success. They said, “His unique bass playing and beautiful guitar work helped get folks to notice us in SF and beyond. I’ll always have a warm place for him in my heart.”
After leaving Train, Colin continued to work in the music industry, playing guitar and providing backing vocals for other bands. The band Train, went on to tour with other popular bands such as Barenaked Ladies and Counting Crows, and became platinum album artists in 2003. The band’s most recent studio album was “AM Gold” in 2022.
