California Police Arrest Suspect in Matthew Perry’s Death

An arrest has been made in connection with the tragic death of beloved actor Matthew Perry, as announced by law enforcement officials. The Los Angeles police department revealed that a person was apprehended in southern California after an investigation was launched in May to determine how the Friends star had obtained prescription medication.

Matthew Perry, known for his struggle with addiction, was discovered dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles residence in October 2023. A subsequent report from the Los Angeles medical examiner’s office cited the cause of death as “the acute effects of ketamine”, with drowning, heart disease, and the impact of buprenorphine also playing a role.

Following an autopsy that revealed high levels of ketamine in his system, the medical examiner concluded that Perry’s passing was accidental, ruling out any foul play. Authorities disclosed that Perry had been receiving ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression, though his final treatment did not explain the excessive levels of the drug in his bloodstream.

Furthermore, it was stated that Perry, who had been sober for 19 months leading up to his demise, did not have any illegal substances or drug-related items at his home. Both the Los Angeles police department and the Drug Enforcement Administration are now collaborating on a joint criminal inquiry to ascertain how Perry, aged 54, had acquired the prescription medication and why it was present in such high quantities.
