MagSafe Battery Chargers Recalled After Fire Injuries

More than 1,000 MagSafe battery chargers are being recalled due to burn risks after several reports of the devices catching fire. Flaunt, the manufacturer, has announced the recall of around 1,400 chargers because of serious fire and burn hazards, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The lithium-ion batteries in these chargers can overheat and ignite, which can lead to severe injuries or even death. The CPSC commented on the risks involved with these chargers. There have been five incidents where power banks overheated and caught fire, including one burn injury to a person’s hand and another to an arm, alongside reports of minor property damage.

The affected chargers have the model number E33A and are marked with “FLAUNT” on the front. They were sold in colours such as melon, black, lavender, and white through the Flaunt website from May 2024 to April 2025, at around $65 each.

Consumers are strongly advised to stop using the recalled chargers immediately and to contact Flaunt for a full refund. The CPSC also advised against disposing of the lithium-ion batteries in regular trash or recycling bins, as they pose a higher risk of fire. Instead, specific disposal methods are recommended to ensure safety.
