New Cast Revealed for Ocean’s Eleven Prequel

Vicky Krieps and George MacKay have joined the cast of Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming prequel to the popular Ocean’s Eleven franchise. This addition highlights the film’s expanding ensemble, which already includes notable actors such as Bradley Cooper and Margot Robbie. The prequel is significant as it explores new narratives within a well-established series.

Krieps, renowned for her performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Phantom Thread, and MacKay, who gained recognition for his role in Sam Mendes’ 1917, are set to appear alongside other cast members including Lauren Ridloff and Jack Holden. Omar Sy, the star of the Netflix series Lupin, is currently in negotiations to join the project as well. The film will mark a shift from previous Ocean’s films that centred on mastermind Danny Ocean, a character portrayed by George Clooney.

This prequel is a period piece, taking place during the 1963 Monaco Grand Prix. Cooper not only stars but also directs and writes the film, while Robbie produces the project through her production company, LuckyChap. Production is expected to commence in late July, starting in Paris before moving to the South of France.

Warners has set a release date of June 25, 2027, while earlier drafts of the script were authored by Carrie Solomon. Krieps has garnered attention in both Europe and Hollywood with her diverse roles, most recently winning accolades for her portrayal of Empress Elisabeth of Austria in Corsage.

Meanwhile, other cast members have also made notable achievements in their careers. Ridloff earned a Tony Award nomination for her Broadway debut, and Holden has won an Olivier Award for his stage performances. As the film develops, further details regarding their specific roles remain unspecified.
