New Ghost Pokémon Chandelure and Gwynn Unveiled

Several new cards from Abyss Eye have been unveiled during the Champion’s League Aichi. This set will be available in Japan from 22 May and will feature prominently in the upcoming English release titled Pitch Black, scheduled for July. Special thanks are given to Jake C. for his assistance with translations.

Among the revealed cards is Poltchageist, a Grass-type Basic Pokémon with 30 HP. Its ability, Ghost Veil, protects it from attacks or abilities that come from the opponent’s Pokémon. Poltchageist can deal damage by placing a damage counter on the opponent’s active Pokémon with its move, Furtive Drop.

Another card, Sinistcha, evolves from Poltchageist and has 60 HP. It shares the same ability, Ghost Veil, and can deal heavy damage through its Matcha Spin move, potentially affecting all opposing Pokémon if certain conditions are met.

Shuppet, a Psychic-type Basic Pokémon, and its evolution, Banette, also feature. Both have 50 HP and 80 HP respectively. Banette’s ability allows players to search their deck for a card and add it to their hand, showcasing tactical advantages.

The range of revealed cards also includes Spiritomb, Litwick, Lampent, and Mega Chandelure ex, each with distinct abilities and damage potential. For instance, Mega Chandelure ex can significantly increase damage dealt based on the opponent’s Pokémon’s Retreat Cost.

In addition to these powerful Pokémon, a new Trainer card named Gwynn allows players to discard Pokémon for additional card draws, enhancing their strategic options. These upcoming releases hint at exciting gameplay possibilities for fans in the upcoming months.
