Share

Many people can now witness the breathtaking beauty of the northern lights firsthand, thanks to smartphone cameras capturing what the naked eye cannot see. A recent solar storm brought the aurora borealis to British Columbia, drawing crowds to Old Orchard Road in Chilliwack. While the sky showed faint whiteish lines to the naked eye, cameras revealed vibrant lime-green lights and magenta movements. The advancement in smartphone technology has made it possible for millions to experience this natural phenomenon that was once only visible to a few. The last time the northern lights were visible in the area was 20 years ago, before smartphones were capable of capturing nighttime images. This development in technology has allowed more people to appreciate the wonders of nature and share their experiences with others online.
