Get ready for exciting Pokémon battles! Pokémon Champions will launch on Nintendo Switch on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. A special bundle, called the Pokémon Champions + Starter Pack, will also be available. This bundle includes the game and extra features like more Pokémon storage and an additional battle song. Players using the Nintendo Switch 2 can download a free update for improved graphics.
In Pokémon Champions, players will take part in battles using familiar features from previous Pokémon games. These features include Pokémon types, Abilities, and moves, which create fun and interesting battle strategies. A mobile version of Pokémon Champions will also come out, allowing players to battle across both Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
The game will connect with Pokémon HOME. This means players can team up with Pokémon from older games and Pokémon GO. Notable Pokémon in Pokémon Champions include Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr. These Pokémon will have new Abilities when they undergo Mega Evolution.
For example, Mega Meganium will have an Ability called Mega Sol, which enhances its moves in sunny weather. Mega Emboar will use its Mold Breaker Ability, ignoring the target’s Ability. Mega Feraligatr’s Ability, Dragonize, will change Normal-type moves into Dragon-type moves and increase their power by 20%.
Whether players want to compete in Ranked Battles or enjoy Casual Battles, Pokémon Champions promises to be very entertaining when it launches on April 8!
