Later this month, players can look forward to the release of Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector and its predecessor on the new Nintendo Switch 2. Gareth Damian Martin, the developer from Jump Over The Age, announced the exciting update, which highlights the growing anticipation for these titles.
Both Citizen Sleeper – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be available on 25th June. Pre-orders are already open on the eShop. Importantly, existing owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to the new editions for free at launch.
These upgraded versions promise enhanced features, including improved graphics with 4K resolution when docked and 1080p in handheld mode, along with a smoother gameplay experience at 60 frames per second. While there is currently no announcement about a Mouse Mode, many players expect its introduction.
For those unfamiliar with the series, the Citizen Sleeper games are inspired by tabletop role-playing games (RPGs) and offer narrative-rich adventures set in space. Players’ choices can significantly affect the story, making for a unique gaming experience. The sequel received multiple award nominations upon its release last year and appeared on numerous Game of the Year lists.
Developers hinted that they will unveil their next game at the upcoming PC Gaming Show, creating excitement among fans. Although details remain scarce, the studio’s history suggests a strong possibility that their future projects will also make their way to Nintendo consoles.
