Confirmation has arrived that the popular strategy game “Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters” will have a sequel titled “Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch.” This new game will focus on the Deathwatch, a special group of Space Marines.
Developed by Complex Games, the same studio behind the first title, and published by Frontier, the game will be available on both PC and console platforms. However, a release date has yet to be announced. The debut trailer has already been released.
In the “Warhammer 40,000” universe, the Deathwatch are renowned for combating alien threats. This elite group is mainly composed of veteran Space Marines from various Chapters, and their distinctive appearance includes their original Chapter’s colours on one shoulder and the Deathwatch colours on the other.
“Chaos Gate – Deathwatch” introduces several significant changes and enhancements. Players can now incorporate agents from the Inquisition and Astra Militarum into their teams. The enemies have also expanded; players will face not just the Death Guard and Nurgle forces, but also Tyranids, Orks, and T’au.
The game will feature nine playable classes and new units, including the Redemptor Dreadnought and the Leman Russ tank. Additionally, a new Skirmish mode will allow players to engage in fully customisable battles.
The campaign will follow Interrogator Bastian Rath as he navigates a conspiracy that threatens the stability of the Tyrian expanse. Players will have to make crucial decisions that will impact the future of the Imperium.
