Editor’s note: The author’s dad, Luis Grané, made the short film “Nowhere Stream”. This film was part of the Boston Science Fiction Film Festival in 2024.
The Boston Science Fiction Film Festival has been running for 49 years. It is the longest-running festival of its kind in America. This year, the festival took place from 14th to 25th of February. They showed films about aliens, science fiction and fantasy. The festival took place in a theater and online. They had many different films and also gave out awards.
The festival is known for its 24-hour film marathon. About 400 people came to watch the marathon. But the festival also showed 70 short films. Short films are much shorter than regular films and may be between three and forty minutes long. They can be very creative and often make audiences think.
The Boston Sci-Fi festival wants more people to join them as volunteers. If you like films and stories and want to learn more, you are welcome to help out at the festival.
