Rayman returned to the Nintendo Switch and other platforms last week with the launch of Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition. This news is important for fans of the character, but not everyone is pleased. Many fans are unhappy because the original music has been replaced with a new version composed by Christophe Héral. There is no option to switch back to the old soundtrack.
Recently, an employee from Ubisoft, the game’s creator, responded on Discord to a fan suggestion about adding the original music. The employee said the team would consider the idea. However, there may be legal issues regarding who owns the rights to the music.
There were reports suggesting that Ubisoft would not continue to update the 30th Anniversary Edition. Yet, another Ubisoft employee stated on Reddit that these claims were wrong. They confirmed that the company is still looking into fan requests, including the original soundtrack.
Fans remain hopeful about getting the original music in a future update. Although the original composer, Rémi Gazel, passed away in 2019, his name is still in the credits for this edition.
