Six Exciting Space Missions Planned After Artemis II Launch

The Artemis II mission has returned safely, marking the first time humans have been to the Moon since 1972. The crew completed a flight around the Moon but did not land. This mission prepares for Artemis III, which aims to land a crew, including the first woman on the Moon, in 2027.

Exciting space missions will happen before then. One is the Chang’e 7 mission from China, planned for August 2026. This mission will land at the Moon’s south pole, where scientists found water ice. The lander will investigate this ice, which could help answer important questions about our Solar System. It will use a rover and a flying probe to explore the area.

NASA will launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope after September 2026. This telescope will look at a larger part of the sky than previous ones, helping scientists study stars, black holes, and planets.

Additionally, the PLATO spacecraft will launch in late 2026 to find Earth-like planets around other stars. It will use special cameras to detect changes in stars’ brightness caused by passing planets.

These missions show that space exploration is an active and thrilling field, providing more knowledge and possibly new discoveries about our universe.
