SpaceX Sets May 19 for Starship Version 3 Launch

SpaceX will try to launch its new Starship V3 rocket on Tuesday, May 19. This news came after a successful test of its fuel system on Monday.

The mission is called Flight 12. It will be the first launch from a new site called Pad 2. This pad is for launching and catching rockets. The Starship V3 will use new Raptor 3 engines.

The main goal of the test is to show that all new parts work well together. SpaceX wants to use what it learned from earlier tests to make rockets that can be reused quickly.

After takeoff, the first part of the rocket will splash down in the Gulf of Mexico. The second part will try to land in the Indian Ocean about an hour later.

SpaceX will also deploy 22 test satellites during the mission. Two of these have new abilities to check the rocket’s heat shield. Only one heat shield tile will be missing at launch to see how it affects the rocket’s flight.

This launch is important for NASA’s plans for future Moon missions.
