The number of cheap buffets in Las Vegas is decreasing, but some still attract many visitors. Michael Gaughan, owner of the South Point hotel and casino, believes buffets help bring in customers. At his casino, 3,000 people enjoy the buffet every day. However, the casino loses up to $2 million each month.
Buffet prices vary. For example, breakfast costs £16.95 for members, while the dinner buffet costs £37.95 or £32.95 for members. A popular event called Seafood Night starts at £52.95 and offers prime rib and drinks. The Circus Circus hotel has a cheaper buffet that starts at £19.95, and the Excalibur Hotel has a weekday brunch for £32.99.
Many Las Vegas buffets struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic. There were more than a dozen famous buffets on the Strip in 2020, but now only four remain. This change happened as wealthier visitors look for high-end restaurants instead of budget options.
Luxury buffets now do well, with long wait times reported at places like Caesars and the Wynn. The city is focusing more on premium experiences, with many visitors earning over £100,000 a year.
