A couple recently moved to Lincoln Park, Illinois, and within days heard a strange noise coming from their stairs. Honor Bisagno and her husband, who rent a renovated garden unit below another home, discovered the sound was from their upstairs neighbour’s golden retriever, Biggs.
The couple were uncertain about letting Biggs into their unit, but the eager dog managed to push the door open and entered their home. Bisagno remarked that it was as if Biggs was not breaking in, but rather inviting himself in. The playful dog quickly charmed the couple, who decided to inform his owners about the unexpected visit. They were delighted that Biggs had made new friends.
Since then, Biggs has been visiting Bisagno and her husband daily. The couple now leave their door open for him, much to the joy of everyone involved. They bond over their shared affection for Biggs, leading to closer connections with the owners and regular shared meals. This social interaction has helped Bisagno and her husband feel more integrated into the community.
Even after undergoing a neutering procedure, Biggs’s spirit was unchanged. He wandered down to visit Bisagno while still recovering, showcasing his determination to connect. Bisagno expressed amazement that a simple issue with a door had brought such joy into her life. Now, Biggs is considered a part of their family, and they look forward to his daily escapades.
