Kate Middleton speaks out after absence from Trooping The Colour rehearsal event due to cancer treatment

Kate Middleton, the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, recently penned an emotional letter to express her apologies for missing a key rehearsal for the Trooping the Colour event. The annual ceremonial Horse Guards Parade in London celebrates King Charles’ official birthday parade and is a significant event for the regiment.

In her letter, Middleton praised the dedication and hard work of the soldiers in preparing for the event, expressing her pride in the Regiment. She acknowledged the months of practice and attention to detail that go into ensuring the uniforms and drill are impeccable for the Trooping the Colour.

Due to her ongoing recovery, Middleton informed the Regiment that Lieutenant General James Bucknall would be replacing her at the Colonel’s Review. Although it is uncertain if Middleton will attend the event, there is speculation that she might make an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Since revealing her cancer diagnosis in March, Middleton has kept a low profile, leading to speculation that she may not return to her previous royal duties. Despite this, the Irish Guards were deeply touched by Middleton’s letter and extended their best wishes for her recovery.

Additionally, Middleton’s generosity was highlighted when she covered a $2,500 tab for the Irish Guards at a regimental bar in Aldershot during the St. Patrick’s Day parade, which she had to miss due to medical reasons.

Overall, Middleton’s heartfelt apology and continued involvement with the Irish Guards showcase her ongoing commitment to her role as their Colonel and her appreciation for their service.
