Genysys Engine
Conservationists are excited about a new AI tool called Squirrel Agent. This tool helps to tell grey squirrels apart from red squirrels. It is very accurate, with 97% success.
The system can control food stations for squirrels. It lets only red squirrels eat from some food stations. It gives grey squirrels different food to stop them from having babies.
Emma McClenaghan, from Genysys Engine, says the AI helps with tasks we cannot do alone. The tool is being tested in places in the UK with help from wildlife charities.
Red squirrels need help because grey squirrels are very common. Grey squirrels can carry a harmful virus that does not hurt them but can kill red squirrels.
