EA and Battlefield Studios have announced a detailed roadmap for Season 4 of Battlefield 6, which includes a crossover with the Top Gun franchise. This collaboration will introduce aircraft such as the F-18 Super Hornet and the F-14 Tomcat, alongside two new gameplay modes. Players can expect to see characters from Top Gun: Maverick, including Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, voiced by Miles Teller, and Admiral Solomon "Warlock" Bates, voiced by Charles Parnell, among others.
Teller expressed his excitement about being part of Battlefield, calling it an honour to join forces with a long-standing franchise. Parnell also shared his enthusiasm, noting that his voice will be used to guide players through the game. Lewis Pullman highlighted the intense nature of Battlefield, suggesting that it pairs well with the Top Gun theme.
Season 4 is set to launch on July 21, 2026, focusing not just on fast-paced action but also on naval warfare. The first phase will introduce a new map, Tsuru Reef, followed by a remake of Wake Island in the second phase. The final phase, Tidal Strike, will be launched with the Deep Six: Collection Event on September 15.
Byron Beede, the general manager of Battlefield, stated that player feedback has shaped the game’s evolution, making this update a significant moment for the franchise as it nears its first anniversary. Notably, Season 4 will also introduce a Spectator Mode and a Portal Custom Lobby for enhanced gameplay experiences.
