SNK’s Fatal Fury series is making a long-awaited comeback with the upcoming release of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. After being dormant for 25 years, fans are excited to see the return of iconic characters like Terry Bogard and Rock Howard. The game was showcased at Evo Japan 2024, where a limited demo was available for the public to play.

One of the standout features of City of the Wolves is its unique character select screen. Unlike traditional fighting games, the select screen displays the five available fighters in a row with their full-body portraits. Players can cycle through the characters by moving left or right, revealing larger and more detailed portraits and names.

The game’s select screen design pays homage to the original Fatal Fury titles, with a nod to Fatal Fury 3 in particular. While the current demo version may feel slightly lacking compared to previous games, players can expect more improvements and additions as the game nears its official release.

In addition to Fatal Fury, Evo Japan 2024 showcased other new select screens, including Hunter X Hunter: Nen Impact. Fans can expect further announcements for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves during The King of Fighters 15 finals.
