Chloe Fineman has decided to leave “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) after seven years. She announced her departure on July 16, saying it was time for her next chapter. Fineman expressed her emotions, saying, “I cried when it was announced,” because she felt very close to her co-stars.
When Fineman called SNL’s boss, Lorne Michaels, to tell him she was leaving, he could not talk because he was watching a World Cup match between England and Argentina. She made a joke about him supporting England because of his British background. After the game, they had a nice conversation.
Fineman joined SNL in 2019 and became known for her impressions of many celebrities, including Jennifer Coolidge and Britney Spears. She mentioned that she only started to show her impression of Melania Trump.
Fineman’s first role after SNL will be in a Netflix series called “Myron Bolitar.” This show is based on popular books written by Harlan Coben. It follows a man who becomes a sports agent after an injury ends his basketball dreams.
Her new project, “The Dink,” a sports comedy about pickleball, will be available on Apple TV from July 24.
