Nintendo has recently announced that two popular games, Princess Peach: Showtime! and Mario vs. Donkey Kong, have both achieved impressive sales milestones on the Switch. Princess Peach: Showtime! has sold over 1.22 million units since its launch on March 22, 2024, while Mario vs. Donkey Kong has reached 1.12 million units since its release on February 16, 2024.
While these numbers may not rival some of the Switch’s biggest hits, the success of these games is still noteworthy, especially considering they have only been on the market for a few months. This achievement demonstrates that even as the Switch enters its twilight years, it can still generate significant sales figures.
Both games have received positive reviews as well. Princess Peach: Showtime! was awarded a score of 8/10, praised as “one of the better kid-focused games on Switch,” while Mario vs. Donkey Kong earned a score of 7/10, highlighted as a great experience for younger gamers or as a cooperative title to enjoy with kids.
In other Nintendo news, the Switch has surpassed 140 million units in sales since its launch in 2017, and the company has confirmed the existence of a Switch successor that will be announced this fiscal year. Additionally, a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for June to showcase upcoming Switch games for the latter half of 2024.
