Tom Holland’s father has recently shared intriguing details regarding his son’s engagement.
In his latest blog post on Patreon, titled “That Engagement,” Dominic Holland confirmed that his eldest son has proposed to Zendaya.
“I can only presume that among my Patrons are journalists,” noted Dominic, a British comedian, author, actor, and broadcaster. He added, “It amuses me that every week, they seek some nugget of information about Tom while sifting through my musings.”
Dominic elaborated, “A prime example of the public’s intrigue this week revolves around speculation about their engagement status, particularly with Zendaya donning a ring while Tom remains out of sight.”
The 57-year-old highlighted that “the engagement has indeed been confirmed” but made it clear that he wouldn’t divulge “any new, tantalizing insights, such as when or where it took place.”
Instead, he contrasted the vastly different approaches that he and his son took toward proposing to their respective partners. “Tom, as you’re aware, was meticulously prepared. He had acquired a ring and had sought her father’s permission prior to proposing,” Dominic disclosed.
The proud father further reminisced about his own proposal to Tom’s mother, Nikki Holland, noting that his approach paled in comparison to his son’s romantic preparatory efforts, possibly influenced by the romantic tropes seen in films.
Dominic also expressed trepidation regarding the public scrutiny such celebrities face. “I do harbor concerns that their shared fame may intensify public interest and the consequent pressures they may encounter; however, they consistently amaze me with their composure,” he reflected.
Dominic conveyed his confidence in the couple’s ability to forge a lasting union amidst the tumultuous landscape of celebrity relationships. He remarked, “Although the entertainment industry is notoriously fraught with challenges for couples, I firmly believe they will navigate their path successfully.”
Zendaya was recently spotted wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, further fueling speculation about the couple’s engagement. Page Six confirmed their betrothal shortly thereafter, revealing that Tom had proposed in an intimate setting between Christmas and New Year’s of 2024, following months of conversation about marriage.
Sources close to the couple have indicated that Zendaya’s family is elated by the engagement, deeming Tom a “class act.” Furthermore, it has been reported that Tom consulted with Zendaya’s father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, months prior to ensure he had his blessing.
In November 2024, just weeks ahead of the proposal, the couple even commemorated their bond with matching tattoos — Zendaya opting for a small “t” on her wrist, while Tom chose a “z” on his ribcage. Their romantic journey, which began during the filming of “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” became public in mid-2021.
