U.S. President Donald Trump said he may cancel concerts for the country’s 250th anniversary. This is due to many artists dropping out. He may give a speech instead.
Trump posted on Truth Social. He said he thinks of himself as a big attraction. He claimed he gets larger crowds than the famous singer Elvis Presley. Elvis is now dead.
This week, Bret Michaels from the band Poison left the Freedom 250 concerts. This was the fifth musician to withdraw. The concerts will happen in Washington, D.C., from June 25 to July 10.
The Freedom 250 website says it is about celebrating American spirits. Some people do not like how Trump is celebrated in these events. They have mentioned putting his face on coins and bills.
Other musicians who cancelled their appearances include country singer Martina McBride and the band Commodores.
