Taylor Swift Embraces Fan Reactions to ‘The Life of a Showgirl’

Taylor Swift said she likes it when people have strong feelings about her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

In an interview, she told Zane Lowe, “If you talk about my album or my name in the first week of release, you help me. People can like or dislike my art. Everyone is allowed to feel how they want. Our job as entertainers is to reflect what you feel.”

She continued, “An album can show how you see yourself. What you go through in life can change how you feel about my music. Fans often tell me, ‘I didn’t like Reputation before, but now it’s my favorite.’”

Swift said making this album was a dream for her. She wanted to have fun and show her playful side. “This is a big part of who I am,” she added.

Even with mixed reviews, the album has sold more than three million copies in the U.S.
