Telemundo, a Spanish-language media company, is making changes to enhance its scripted content production. The restructuring involves merging its linear and streaming studios into one unit called Telemundo Studios. This move aims to unify the traditional and streaming studio businesses. Luis Fernandez, chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, announced the new structure, emphasizing the company’s focus on serving the Latino community with high-quality scripted content across all platforms. Ronald Day has been promoted to president of entertainment and chief content officer for Telemundo, with Javier Pons appointed as executive VP of Telemundo Studios. Day expressed excitement about leading the consolidated team and continuing Telemundo’s success in producing Spanish-language content. These changes mark significant developments in Telemundo’s entertainment division under Fernandez’s leadership. Earlier leadership changes were also implemented in the network’s news division. Telemundo’s commitment to providing top-notch scripted content for its audience remains strong.
